Many people wish for things in some future place, or believe this life is a staging ground for something more. I think we can have everything right now if we just choose to see whats already here in front of us.

Because we can have "heaven," that place of contentment, now... how respectfully we treat other people means a lot to me. Its fashionable to care for animals; strangely, mistreating eachother is often tolerated. Perhaps its because other human beings have caused us so much pain, we distance ourselves from empathizing with other people. We can become apathetic, uninvolved. We dont always say something, or do something. Its easier to justify it as something that always goes on.

The easiest solution to this is also the simplest - treat others well, rather than tear other people down.
