  Abstract

This exploratory study tested the feasibility of using the Transcendental Meditation® technique to reduce stress and anxiety as a means of reducing symptoms of ADHD. Students ages 11-14 were taught the technique, and practiced it twice daily in school. Common ADHD inventories and performance measures of executive function were administered at baseline and three months later. Results showed statistically significant reductions in stress, anxiety, and improvements in ADHD symptoms and executive function.......

heh it sure would be nice if it parsed a line break when i hit enter so i dont look like a crazy ranter.. who the hell is gonna read that now ://////
lol i dont even think ADHD is a real illness.. i think its acquired/learned behavior which is why meditation/cbt can undo/unlearn it... just another result of profits and politics over empathy and education... i know plenty ofpersons with ADHD and their stories tell me it all just started with neglect at home... and then their parents just took them to a doc instead of providing-emotional-and-social support for them... course their anxious, perhaps the just exercise to get anxiety out and their metabolism means they can talk faster than some ppl.. i live in arizona and i was in a gifted program sponsored and led by ASU, ages 8-12.. the program involved engineer, theology, history anthopology , physics, literature and all kindsa other subjects.. cept we didnt do textbook crap like reghular school nor did we sit down and not actually do hands-on stuff to LEARN IT FOR REAL... so i have no mercy for people who prescribe drugs first and ask questions later... its garbage, plain garbage... ASU is awesome, u dont have to go attend there to be a part of it.. its soooooooo community involved n tehy dont treat things like theres something to be afraid of n they explain things well and entertained all of our questions... my social anxiety only started when the school i got into 7th grade where i couldnt go to the program nemore [it was free (public reg school district, same $ as other schools)] cuz i learned SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH MORE than other kids cuz tehy didnt treat us like we were too young to understand, so actually 8th-12th grade was all review for me, and actually alot of it was plain /lies/ [particuarly about american historty and governmental structures] its about cirriculum ... GO ASU GO! #3 largest university in teh USA, world-renown and they dont just educate, they truly care and get involved.. since i know so much about history, i laugh so much at psychology today based on 18th century fruedian stuff, when freud was an alcoholic who figured cocaine was a good cure for alcoholism..and thought that all men looked for women to marry that were like their mothers... and this is what we train our psychologists with, yet we dont tell them freud is a drug addict and a sex fiend? claim they are the fathers of modern psychology, what about greeks and romans in 5th Century BC, what about persians before that... last 400 years of human history is quite.... barbaric and backwards and ignorant compared to the 1600 years before that... sad sad thing when the 'experts' are trained by schools of thought created by drug addicts... ridiculous. GO THAI CHI! EXERCISE IS THE BEST ANTI ANXIETY, sugar and caffiene and corn syrup the worst anxiety-causer.. as well as being lied to.. heh... its silly... very silly.. its sad so many suffer because we entrust our thoughts to people trained with ideas based upon a drug-addicts ideas, yet we praise him as a master... damn you President Wilson ya racist heroification/disneyifying bastard (1910 president) have fun burning in hell..
meditation is the coolest thing! any kind! dont get intimidated by the description of the link if its too complex sounding, especially also coz it states CBT, etc. just simple meditation alone without any other therapy is already a big enough deal for results. u can checkout youtube for meditation examples.
